AGV Group Malta is seeking an Accountant to join our finance team. With several companies operating across a range of sectors, our finance function plays a central role in keeping the group running well. This is a good opportunity for someone who wants broad exposure across multiple business lines.

Job description

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will handle day-to-day accounting duties including bookkeeping, reconciliations, VAT returns, and assistance with management accounts. You will work with colleagues across the group to ensure records are accurate, deadlines are met, and financial reporting is reliable.

Role & Responsibilities

The role covers the full accounting cycle, from posting transactions through to supporting month-end and year-end reporting alongside our external auditors.

• Maintain accurate ledgers and process day-to-day transactions
• Prepare bank, supplier, and customer reconciliations
• Compile VAT returns and support statutory reporting obligations
• Assist with management accounts, budgets, and audit preparation

What we’re looking for

• ACCA qualified, part-qualified, or a degree in Accountancy
• Previous experience in an accounting or finance role
• Solid understanding of Maltese VAT and statutory requirements
• Confident using accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• Strong numeracy skills and a high level of accuracy
• Ability to meet reporting deadlines and manage priorities
• Discreet and professional when handling confidential information
• Good communication skills in English
• A collaborative approach to working with other departments
• Eligibility to work in Malta
